E03 Error on ENGWE EP-2 3.0 and L20 3.0
What it means + how to fix it From the manual
Quick answer
E03 on the ENGWE EP-2 3.0 and L20 3.0 means “Control unit Hall fault.” Most likely cause: a damaged motor cable or a loose or wet motor connector. Try this first: turn it off and on again.
Most motors have small Hall sensors that tell the controller where the motor's magnets are, so it can push at the right moment. Their thin wires run inside the motor cable. If one of those wires is damaged, a connector pin is loose or wet, or a sensor fails, you get this code. You may notice a jerky start, or the motor won't start at all.
