Error 05 on Bafang DPC-244 / DPC-245 Display

For safety, the system checks that the throttle is fully released. If it's pressed, sticking or not springing all the way back, this code appears and the throttle won't work.

1. 1Switch on with your hands off the throttleFree Switch off. Then switch back on without touching the throttle. Many systems check that the throttle is fully released at power-on.
2. 2Turn it off and on againFree Switch the display off, wait 30 seconds, then switch it back on. If the code clears, note what you were doing when it appeared, in case it comes back.
3. 3Check that the throttle springs backEasy Press the throttle and let go. It should snap fully back on its own. Make sure nothing, like a grip, bag or cable, is pressing on it.
4. 4Check the throttle plug and cableEasy Switch off. Follow the throttle's cable from the handlebar to its plug. Pull it apart, check for bent pins or water, and push it back together firmly. Look for pinches where the bars turn.
5. 5Swap in a replacement throttleModerate Throttles are cheap and plug in. Match the connector and the throttle type your controller expects (your bike's manual or the old throttle's label will say). If the new one works, you're done.
6. 6Have the controller testedShop job If the wiring checks out, the controller may be faulty. A shop can test it and replace it if needed.
